Introducing Herbie Herbert, our esteemed Chairman and master of all things Corps-related!
With 33 years in the Corps, Herbie’s got more manoeuvres under his belt than you can shake a stick at. From organising themed mess events to wrangling bouncy castles at Forces community open days, he’s done it all – and can even twist up a mean balloon sausage dog!
A proud member of Ogri MCC, Herbie’s not just about work, he’s also the life of the party. Catch him busting moves on tables and energetically dancing to his favourite tunes (if you know, you know!).
When he’s not rocking out, Herbie’s a talented musician and will be taking the stage at SSF over the weekend – watch this space for the big band announcement!
As the brains behind Summer Sales Fest, Herbie and the committee have been planning the ultimate reunion from the day our first one finished, and the excitement is real. Get ready for a weekend of epic proportions, filled with live music, laughs, and memories to last a lifetime. See you there, troops!

With 17 years in the Corps as an RTG (God’s Trade – his words!), Steve’s mastered the art of communication like nobody’s business.
From the military to the music scene, he’s been orchestrating chaos for over two decades – whether it’s organising charity events for the Royal Signals Bikers or fine-tuning sound and light as a roadie for his daughter’s gigs.
When the idea for Summer Sales popped up during a campfire chat at Mercury Madness 22, Steve knew it was game on. Now entering Year 2 of Summer Sales Festival and with a team of event experts and music maestros, we’ve been planning Summer Sales 24 for the last seven months, and the gates will swing open again this August.
Reflecting on last year’s Summer Sales Festival, Steve said, “It’s seeing hundreds of people having a blast that truly stands out. From the planning to the festival grounds, it was one heck of a journey, and I’m grateful to everyone who’s been part of it. And now we get to do it all again!!”
Introducing Kev Wyatt our Head of Development
After spending 11 years and 233 days in the Corps as a Sys Op from 1986 to 1998, Kev has mastered the art of handling both tech and tactics!
A proud full patch member of Ogri MCC since 2010, Kev’s been involved in countless rally setups, Euro events, and, of course, a fair share of drinking shenanigans.
In 2023, Kev was ‘volunteered’ from a cast of not-so-many to spearhead the conceptualisation and execution of some top-secret back-end elements for our Summer Sales festival. Tasked with bridging the gap between dreams and reality, Kev worked tirelessly to bring our vision to life, from website development to keeping the committee in line.
It was a whirlwind year of aligning concepts with capabilities, but Kev believed in our mission and knew we had something special brewing. Summer Sales 2023 was a roaring success, and now, with year 2 on the horizon, we’re ready to double down and do it all over again!
A huge shoutout to everyone who supported us in making Summer Sales a reality. Now, let’s kick back, enjoy the festivities, and spread the word for future years. Remember, have fun and stay safe out there!
Introducing Benny our Head of Ticketing (and the pennies)
With over a decade of experience in troop and squadron functions, including running a mobile disco in BAOR, he’s a master at organising memorable events. As a director of Snowsport England and chairman of Snowsport South, Benny’s expertise extends to orchestrating meetings, races, and parties. He’s also a key figure in arranging reunions and events for Royal Signals Bikers and Royal British Legion Riders, showcasing his dedication to both organisation and camaraderie.
Benny’s involvement in developing the Summer Sales concept with Scouse, Graham, Kev and Herbie demonstrates his innovative spirit and commitment to success.
Meet the newest recruit – Suzy on Marketing!
With over 8 years of service in the Corps, she was tracked down by one of our committee members who served with her in Germany. Suzy’s tours included 28 Sigs (Rheindahlen JHQ) and 9 Sigs (Cyprus) back in the day. After leaving the forces, she built a career in construction and during COVID, made the bold move to start her own marketing business. With 26+ years of marketing experience in the construction industry, she’s a powerhouse!
Suzanne Taylor (nee Greenland) of Cre8t Marketing is proud to support a whole host of army veterans including tradespeople, and charities (Healthier Heroes CIC), and now, our festival to add to the mix!
Suzy brings a wealth of marketing experience and organisational skills that truly embody what Summer Sales is all about. She’s thrilled to join Herbie, Kev, Scouse, Benny, and Graham in making this festival the best one yet.
And let’s be honest, this year’s marketing has been absolutely on point!
In her spare time, Suzy supports two charities as a trustee and treasurer, and loves spending time with family, friends, and enjoys the great outdoors camping in their vintage VW Jurgens campervan which all being well will make an appearance at Summer Sales 2024!!
Introducing Graham, our QM (Quartermaster) and Top Chef Extraordinaire!
Hi everyone! I’m Graham Kendall, part of the Summer Sales committee, and playing the role of QM (Quartermaster) for the group. I joined the army in January 1973 at JIW Preston and quickly found my way to the Royal Signals in 1974. Over the years, I’ve been posted to various regiments and had the pleasure (and sometimes the chaos) of managing stores at 7 Sigs, 5 Field Force, 28 Sigs, and more.
I’ve done two tours in the Falkland Islands and served on Operation Granby in the Gulf. After leaving the regular army in 1996, I couldn’t resist staying involved and joined the TA, eventually landing back at 21 Sigs on an ADC contract.
Together with my wife Wendy, I’m a founder member of OGRI MCC, where Summer Sales is held at our clubhouse and grounds. When I’m not wrangling festival logistics, I serve as the estate manager of Cotswold Airport.
Creating Summer Sales with Scouse, Benny, Kev, and Herbie has been an incredible journey, and I can’t wait to see you all at #SSF2024!
